第二肋比第一肋长得多，但曲度非常相似。
结节的非关节部分有时标志不明显。肋角不显著，位于结节附近。肋体无扭转，因此两端均可接触放置其上的任何平面；但存在一个弯曲，其凸面朝上，与第一肋上的弯曲相似，但较小。肋体不像第一肋那样水平扁平。其外面呈凸面，朝向上方并略朝外；其中部附近有一粗糙隆起，为前锯肌第一锯齿下部及第二锯齿全部的起始处；其后上方附有后斜角肌。内面光滑而凹陷，朝向下方并略朝内；其后部有一短的肋沟。
