肛管下1/3（肛梳）衬覆复层鳞状上皮，与皮肤相延续。其末端为肛皮线，即肛门内括约肌的下缘及外部皮肤的起始处。肛门移行区是一个组织学术语，描述肛柱与肛皮线之间移行区的上皮。
