Definition

The cavernous nerves of clitoris are post-ganglionic parasympathetic nerves that facilitate  clitoral erection. They arise from cell bodies in the inferior hypogastric plexus where they receive the pre-ganglionic pelvic splanchnic nerves (S2-S4).
