Definition
The deep layer of temporal fascia refers to the inner lamina of the (deep) temporal fascia, that attaches to the inner lip (or internal margin) of the zygomatic arch.
It separates the superficial temporal fat pad (located between the superficial and deep laminae of the temporal fascia) from the deep temporal fat pad (lying between the deep lamina of the temporal fascia and the temporalis muscle).
