Tuberculum posterior distalis fibulae

  • Latin eponym: Tuberculum Agteni
  • Eponym: Agten's tubercle

Definition

Antoine Micheau

The distal posterior tubercle of fibula (Agten's tubercle) is not an official anatomical term in Terminologia Anatomica but is described by some authors as the tubercle located on the posteromedial part of the lateral malleolus, just behind of the malleolar fossa.

It provides attachment for the posterior tibiofibular ligament.
