Definition
The lateral malleolar crest is a distinct crest that runs distally on the lateral facet of the lateral malleolus, continuing the lateral surface of fibula.
It is not listed in the Terminologia Anatomica but this crest is clinically significant for hardware placement during syndesmotic fixation and fibular plating.
