Definition
The infrahyoid region is defined anatomically as the portion of the anterior neck located below the hyoid bone, encompassing the area that contains the infrahyoid muscles (sternohyoid, omohyoid, sternothyroid, and thyrohyoid). This region extends inferiorly from the hyoid bone to the level of the clavicle and is bounded laterally by the carotid sheaths.
