Definition
The interfoveolar ligament (ligament of Hesselbach) is a fibrous band that forms the functional medial border of the deep inguinal ring. The interfoveolar ligament runs from the inferior and posterior aspect of transversus abdominis muscle to insert into the inguinal ligament anterior to the transversalis fascia.
