Umbilical fascia
Fascia umbilicalis
Definition
The umbilical fascia is a thickening of the transversalis fascia behind the umbilic.
For some authors, the umbilical fascia is a part of the umbilicovesical fascia that is a thin fascial layer that extends between the medial umbilical ligaments from the umbilicus, and extends inferiorly, becoming continuous with the visceral fascia enclosing the urinary bladder.
