The middle trunk of brachial plexus is located in the floor of the posterior triangle of the neck and constitutes a part of the supraclavicular portion of the brachial plexus. It represents a direct continuation of the C7 nerve root.

The supraclavicular portion of the brachial plexus consists of the middle trunk, as well as the superior and inferior trunks. Each trunk, including the middle trunk, divides into two branches: an anterior division and a posterior division.
