The palpebral part of lacrimal gland is the smaller inferior portion of the lacrimal gland situated beneath the levator palpebrae superioris aponeurosis in the lateral part of the upper eyelid. It is continuous posteriorly with the larger orbital part and projects into the superior conjunctival fornix.

Functions

Functionally, the palpebral part contributes to secretion of the aqueous component of the tear film, helping to lubricate, cleanse, and protect the ocular surface. The ducts of the lacrimal gland open into the superior conjunctival fornix.
