Paraolfactory sulci
Sulci paraolfactorii
Definition
The paraolfactory sulci refer to the vertically-oriented grooves or sulci that border the paraolfactory gyri in the subcallosal area. These include the anterior and posterior paraolfactory sulci.
The posterior paraolfactory sulcus is located behind the paraolfactory gyri and separates them from the paraterminal gyrus that is immediately behind them. Towards the front, the anterior paraolfactory sulcus forms the anterior boundary for the paraolfactory gyri (or subcallosal area).
