The posterior geniculum of facial nerve (second genu of facial nerve; external geniculum of facial nerve) is the second turn of the facial nerve, where it bends vertically downward just distal to the pyramid eminence. This is the boundary between the tympanic segment and the mastoid segment of facial nerve.
