Superficial muscles of forearm

Musculi superficiales antebrachii

Definition

Muhammad A. Javaid

The superficial muscles of forearm comprise several muscles, including the pronator teres, flexor carpi radialis, palmaris longus, and flexor carpi ulnaris. These muscles typically share a common origin from the medial epicondyle of the humerus via the common flexor tendon.

Another muscle called the flexor digitorum superficialis, which constitutes an intermediate muscular layer, is located just underneath the above-mentioned superficial muscles.
