Third cuneometatarsal interosseous ligament
Tertium ligamentum cuneometatarseum interosseus
Definition
The cuneometatarsal interosseous ligaments are three in number:
The first cuneometatarsal interosseous ligament (Lisfranc ligament proper) is the strongest, and passes from the lateral surface of the medial cuneiform to the adjacent angle of the second metatarsal.
The second cuneometatarsal interosseous ligament connects the lateral cuneiform with the adjacent angle of the second metatarsal.
The third cuneometatarsal interosseous ligament connects the lateral angle of the lateral cuneiform with the adjacent side of the base of the third metatarsal.
