Transverse bundle of the medial collateral ligament
Fasciculus transversus ligamenti collaterale mediale
- Synonym: Transverse ligament of elbow
- Eponym: Cooper's ligament
- Acronym: T-MCL
Definition
The transverse bundle of the medial collateral ligament (T-MCL) of the elbow originates on the proximal medial olecranon and runs distally to insert just distal to the coronoid process. This ligament is variable and because this ligament originates and inserts on the ulna, it does not provide significant stability of the elbow.
