Bulbus aortae
Definition
The aortic bulb is a dilation located at the origin of the ascending aorta, formed by the three aortic sinuses situated peripheral to the semilunar cusps of the aortic valve. Clinically, it corresponds to the anatomical site of origin of the coronary arteries.
