Lateral part of glenoid cavity of proximal phalanx

Pars lateralis cavitae glenoidales phalangis proximalis

Definition

In horses, for several authors like Barone or JM Denoix, the proximal articular surface of the proximal phalanx is not described as a simple articular fovea (as listed is in the NAV), but as an articular surface including a medial and a lateral glenoid cavity separated by the proximal sagittal groove of proximal phalanx.
