Definition

The radial carpal bone (sometime called scaphoid bone) is the most medial on the proximal (antebrachial) carpal row.

In carnivores, it is fused with the intermediate carpal bone to form the intermedioradial carpal bone.

In horses, The radial carpal bone is the largest bone of the proximal row.
