Definition

The skeleton of the pes (skeleton of the hindfoot; pelvic autopodium) is composed by 3 segments of bones, from proximal to distal:

  • Tarsal bones (basipodium)
  • Metatarsal bones (metapodium)
  • Phalanges (acropodium)
