The anterior cecal artery is a branch of the ileocolic artery and supplies the anterior aspect of the cecum.

According to angiographic studies, the anterior cecal artery can have variable origins. In a study of 80 post-mortem examinations, it was found that the anterior cecal artery originated from the right colic artery in 8.7% of cases, from the ileal artery in 13.8% of cases, and from the ileocolic artery in 1.2% of cases.
