Concha of auricle
Concha auriculae
Definition
The concha of auricle is a deep, bowl-shaped depression centrally located in the external ear, functioning as the primary entrance to the external auditory meatus.
The concha is bordered posteriorly and superiorly by the antihelix, which separates it from the scapha and the triangular fossa.
Anteriorly, the curs of the helix (a.k.a. the anterior root of the helix) projects medially over the concha and splits it into two parts: the upper cymba conchae and the lower cavum conchae.
