- Related terms: Cymba of concha
Definition
The cymba conchae is the upper, smaller subdivision of the concha in the external ear auricle. It is located superior to the crus of the helix (anterior root of the helix), which acts as a cartilaginous ridge separating it from the lower, larger cavum conchae.
Anatomically, the cymba conchae is bordered above by the inferior crus of the antihelix, which separates it from the triangular fossa.
