Deep middle cerebral vein

Vena media profunda cerebri

Definition

The deep middle cerebral vein is formed by the union of the insular veins in the limen area and receives the inferior thalamostriate veins as it crosses the anterior perforated substance.

It joins to the small anterior cerebral vein to form the basal vein of Rosenthal.
