Definition

The venous vascular territories of the brain are highly variable and not well known as the arterial vascular territories.

Are described (but varying from sources and authors):

  • Territory of cortical veins to superior sagittal sinus

  • Territory of cortical veins to transverse sinus

  • Territory of the superficial middle cerebral vein

  • Territory of the superior anastomotic vein (of Trolard)

  • Territory of the inferior anastomotic vein (of Labbe)

  • Territory of the deep internal veins

  • Territory of superior thalamostriate vein

  • Territory of the basal vein (of Rosenthal)

  • Territory of the great cerebral vein (of Galen)

  • Territory of the petrosal veins

  • Territory of the tentorial veins

  • Territory of the superior sagittal sinus

  • Territory of the sphenoparietal sinus

  • Territory of the straight sinus

  • Territory of the transverse sinus

  • Territory of the sigmoid sinus

  • Territory of the inferior sagittal sinus
