Territory of the inferior anastomotic vein (of Labbe)

Area venae anastomoticae inferioris (Labbe)

Definition

The inferior anastomotic vein (vein of Labbe) drain classically the posterior and inferior temporal lobe and the adjacent parietal lobe.

But this territory is highly variable and the size of the inferior anastomotic vein (and the importance of its territory) varies in inverse relationship with the size of the superior anastomotic vein (vein of Trolard) and the terminal part of the superficial middle vein (of Sylvius).
