Definition
The great cerebral vein (of Galen) drains (variably) the cerebellum, the interpeduncular fossa, the inferior horn of the lateral ventricle, the medial parietal-occipital region, the parahippocampal gyrus, the midbrain, and the choroid plexuses of the third and lateral ventricles.
The great cerebral vein (of Galen) drains into the straight sinus.
