Definition
The mastoid angle of parietal bone is truncated and connects with both the occipital bone and the mastoid part of the temporal bone. On its inner side, it has a wide, shallow groove which houses part of the transverse sinus. The spot where this angle meets the occipital and the mastoid part of the temporal bone is called the asterion.
