Definition

The occipital margin of temporal bone is the rear edge of the temporal bone’s petrous part, which connects with the occipital bone. This margin features a bony groove known as the jugular notch. This notch aligns with the jugular notch on the occipital bone to create both the front and back borders of the jugular foramen.
