Definition
The parasternal lymph nodes are a group of lymph nodes located along the internal thoracic vessels, in the anterior intercostal spaces adjacent to the sternum.
These nodes are part of the lymphatic drainage system of the thoracic cavity and play a role in the lymphatic spread of malignancies, particularly breast cancer and lung cancer.
