Proximal tendon of adductor longus

Tendo proximalis musculi adductoris longi

  • Synonym: Inserting tendon of adductor longus muscle

Definition

Antoine Micheau

The proximal attachment of the adductor longus is characterized by a muscular attachment on its deep surface and a tendinous insertion on its superficial surface: this inserting tendon, the proximal tendo of the adductor longus muscle attaches to the anterosuperior aspect of the pubic bone. Histologically, the tendon fibers insert perpendicularly into the bone at a fibrocartilage enthesis
