Right hepatic vein

The right hepatic vein comes from the right lobe of the liver. It is the longest of the hepatic veins, and ends directly into the inferior vena cava.

The right hepatic vein draines the segments VI and VII and partly the segments V and VIII.

The virtual oblique coronal plane passing through the right hepatic vein is called the right portal fissure, that separated the right part of the liver into the right medial and right lateral divisions of the liver for the hepatic segmentation.
