The humeral transepicondylar distance is a landmark used for standardization of straight positioning of the canine humerus in the frontal plane. It is determined from a cranio-caudal radiograph of the humerus. It allows to calculate the elbow rotational position.

The humeral transepicondylar distance is the total distance between the medial epicondyle and the lateral epicondyle of the humerus.
