Lacrimal artery
Arteria lacrimalis
Definition
The lacrimal artery is given by the external ohptalmic artery and irrigates the lacrimal gland. It passes dorsolaterally to the muscles of the eyeball. In some species, it gives rise to the lateral palpebral arteries, notably in humans and rabbits. In cats, it arises from the Admirable plexus of maxillary artery.
