Nonvisual retina
Pars ceca [caeca] retinae
Definition
The nonvisual retina refers to the part of the retina without photoreceptors. It extends over the posterior surface of the iris and the surface of the ciliary body extending to the ora serrata, which forms its border with the optic part of the retina. The nonvisual retina is thinner than the optic retina.
