Radiate carpal ligament

Ligamentum carpi radiatum

Definition

The radiate carpal ligament is composed by palmar fibers diverging from the os carpale III, melted with the palmar intercarpal ligaments.

It seems that in carnivores this ligament is considered as the palmar surface of the fibrous layer of the joint capsule, and termed "palmar carpi fibrocartilage" in the Miller's book.

In ungulate, Barone consider that the radiate carpal ligament is a part of the "the common palmar ligament".
