Antebrachiocarpal joint

Articulatio antebrachiocarpea

Definition

In carnivores, the antebrachiocarpal joint is formed between the distal radius and ulna and the radial and ulnar carpal bones, and is divided into radiocarpal joint and a ulnocarpal joint. This joint is stabilized primarily by a radial (medial) collateral ligament and an ulnar (lateral) collateral ligament that are short in carnivores.
