Definition
In vertebrates, the hindbrain or rhombencephalon is the rearmost portion of the brain.
It connects the prosencephalon (telenceephalon+diencephalon) and the mesencephalon to the spinal chord.
It includes the medulla, the pons and the cerebellum.
