Right subclavian artery

Arteria subclavia dextra

Definition

Juliette Garnodier

The right subclavian artery is an artery that supplies the right thoracic limb, as well as part of the neck, the cranial thoracic wall, and certain deep thoracic structures.

It arises from the brachiocephalic trunk at the thoracic inlet. It courses laterally and slightly cranially, passes over the first rib, and continues toward the thoracic limb, where it becomes the axillary artery.
