Ileal veins
Venae ileales
Definition
The ileal veins drain the proximal part ileum, they begin as straight veins, which then form small loops with adjacent straight veins, which ultimately drain directly into the superior mesenteric vein. The distal part of ileum is drained by the ileocolic vein.
