Definition
The right gastroomental vein (right gastroepiploic vein) receives branches from the greater omentum and from the lower parts of the antero-superior and posteroinferior surfaces of the stomach; it runs from left to right along the greater curvature of the stomach between the two layers of the greater omentum.
The right gastroomental vein is often a component of the gastrocolic trunk of Henle, which is a common anatomical variant in the portal circulation, formed by the confluence of the right gastroomental vein, the anterior superior pancreaticoduodenal vein, and the superior right colic vein
