Parietal border of temporal bone

Margo parietalis ossis temporalis

  • Related terms: Parietal border

Definition

The parietal border of temporal bone refers to the upper edge or boundary of the squamous part of the temporal bone, where it connects with the parietal bone of the skull. This border marks the meeting point of these bones, which forms the squamous suture. Continuing backwards from the squamous suture, above the mastoid process, the temporal bone continues to join the parietal bone at the parietomastoid suture.
