The sphenoidal lingula (a.k.a. the lingula of the sphenoid bone), is the raised lateral edge of the carotid sulcus. It indicates where the body of the sphenoid bone merges with its greater wing. For your information, the carotid sulcus, is a shallow groove next to the body of the sphenoid bone.
