Definition
In male, the transverse perineal ligament (Preurethral ligament of Waldeyer) is the apical anterior part of the perineal membrane attached to the inferior pubic ligament (arcuate ligament) of the pubic symphysis.
In females, the transverse perineal ligament may is called pubourethral ligament. For some authors, there is no transverse perineal ligament in female (1)
