Anatomic lateral distal radial angle
Anatomic lateral distal radial angle
- Acronym: aLDRA
Definition
The anatomic lateral distal radial angle (aMPRA) is a landmark used to assess angular deformities of the radius and provide guidance for corrections. It is determined from a mediolateral radiograph, or multiplanar reconstructed CT images of the radius
The anatomic lateral distal radial angle is defined by the intersection of the anatomic radial axis and the distal radial joint orientation line in the frontal plane.
The following mean value have been reported for the anatomic lateral distal radial angle:
Medium and Large breed dogs : 86.7 +/- 2.9° (Fox et al. 2006)
Small-breed nonchondrodystrophic dogs : 85.60 +/- 1.74° (Duncan et al. 2022)
Shih-Tzu : 87.59 +/- 1.37° (Jeong et al. 2020)
Welsh Corgi : 77.63 +/- 4.12° (Kwon et al. 2022)
Dachshund : 76.69 +/- 5.37° (Kwon et al. 2022)
Pekingese : 82.95 +/- 3.59° (Kwon et al. 2022)
Matesese : 87.24 +/- 5.81° (Kwon et al. 2022)
Poodle : 89.60 +/- 2.03° (Kwon et al. 2022)
Beagle : 86.98 +/- 1.58° (Kwon et al. 2022)
Labrador Retrievers : 86° (range 85.1 to 86.9°) (Fox and Tomlinson 2018)
