  • Acronym: θ

Definition

Stephan Mahler

The θ angle is a landmark used to assess angular deformities of the radius and provide guidance for corrections. It is determined from a mediolateral radiograph, or multiplanar reconstructed CT images of the radiusIn the sagittal plane.

the θ angle is measured as the angular intersection of the proximal anatomic radial axis and the distal anatomic radial axis.

A mean value of 11.88 +/- 1.76° has been reported for the θ angle in small-breed nonchondrodystrophic dogs.
