Ciliary processes

Processus ciliares

Definition

Felipe Barona Lopez

The ciliary processes are broad folds in the choroidal layers of the ciliary body. Organized radially around the lens equator.

They are separated by deep hollows and can alternate in size. They generally number between 80 and 100 and together form the corona ciliaris. They are densely vascularized by capillaries that contribute to the formation of aqueous humor.
