Corona of hoof [Coronet]

The corona of hoof is the proximal border area where the skin meets the hoof wall, forming a ring around the top of the hoof capsule. It contains the coronary epidermis and coronary corium, which are the main horn-producing tissues responsible for generating most of the hoof wall.
