Corpus callosum

Definition

Juliette Garnodier

The corpus callosum is the largest commissure in the brain, linking the two hemispheres and enabling the cerebrum to function coherently as a single cognitive center.

This commissure exists only in Eutherian mammals and reaches its maximal development in primates.
