Digastric branch

Ramus digastricus

Definition

Marjorie Champarou

The digastric branch originates at the stylomastoid foramen, near the internal auricular branch and the caudal auricular nerve. It descends between the parotid gland and the occipitohyoid muscle to end its course by supplying the caudal belly and the occipitomandibular part (in the horse) of the digastric muscle.
